You should define how your device wants to connects to the internet first. The device will automatically checks for and connects to an available known network when a network connection is needed. Selection is based on the connection settings, unless there are application-specific settings applied.

You can also connect to WLANs manually using the WLAN wizard application.

What a weird bug (o_O)
I was having the same connection problem with the nokia N8. Hopefully I think i figured it out my case though. It is the case of synchronization which requires the internet connection. So with every synchronization nokia N8 is automatically connected to the internet. My was with the email. So i changed the setting for my email. Lastly my problem was solved.
In the router of your home or office can be a problem.
The macadress could be the problem.
Place in trusted wireless connection the mac adress of your n8
You find your mac adress bij ringing *#62209526#
Ok. Here is my scenario. I have 2 WLAN connections. One in office and one in home. When I am in home, I would like to use my home’s WLAN and when I am in office I would like to use my GPRS connection ( call me old fashioned/weird/whatever but using office property for personal use is not something that I would like ). I have already configured both the WLANs and now I would like to delete the settings for Office’s WLAN. I am not able to figure out the way on how to do this. Basically the idea was if I delete/change the pass key for office’s WLAN, I won’t be able to connect using WLAN and my GPRS will take over.
So, if there is a way to do this, please be kind enough and share it here. That would be nice. And yes i do want this to happen automatically, other wise there is a way to change priority every time I connect.
