Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note in India and it will cost Rs. 34,990. The company said on the launch that they are expecting to sell around one million Galaxy Note smartphones in India. The new large-screen smartphone will act as both tablet computer and a mobile handset.
If Samsung achieves the target of selling 1 Million units of Galaxy Note smartphones, they would generate around Rs. 3,500 crore from selling the Galaxy Note only. The company is planning to capture the 40 percent mobile handsets market share in India by December from around 30 percent right now.
The newly launched Galaxy Note has a 5.3-inch high-definition (HD) touchscreen which is smaller than the tablets but larger than a normal handset. The Android-based device comes with a 1.4 Ghz dual-core processor for fast and user interface usage. It also features 8 MP camera and 2 MP front camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with an advanced pen-input technology called ‘Smart Pen’. They also unveiled ‘S Choice’, new category menu under Samsung Apps, with applications specially designed for Galaxy Note’s Smart Pen function.
The Smart Pen can be used to visualise and share thoughts during real-time conference calls, made using the device. It can also be used to crop the screen in any shape needed.
